Who Will Love Me Now?
If there are no accidents,
what do we learn
when we meet?
Restless minds,
hungry hearts
empty arms,
cunning instruments
of delight.
Seek, find;
win, lose;
run away, and back.
Yearn,
churn inside-out.
Try, shy,
quest, test,
shame, blame,
dance around
the only burning question.
Who will love me
now?
What are we?
Lovers, friends?
Predators?
Do we wish to kill the beast
just yet?
Sacrifice one for the other?
Do you even think such thoughts
inside yourself?
Such different worlds,
our separate selves.
Conniving to touch,
choking on pain.
And always
the question burns.
Who will love me?
Now.
